If love were a language, Eddy Mann would be its most eloquent poet. His latest single, “Did I Ever”, dropping just in time to win over hearts this Valentine’s season (February 12, 2025), is like the musical equivalent of a warm hug and a box of chocolates. And yes, I listened to it while staring longingly out the window, pretending I was in a rom-com. No shame.

Mann’s track, inspired by Romans 10:10, is essentially a love letter wrapped in buttery smooth melodies and heartfelt lyrics. It’s the kind of song that makes you think, "Do I even deserve to listen to this level of vulnerability?" Spoiler: probably not, but we’re lucky Eddy decided to share it anyway. The chorus—“Did I ever say that I love you”—is a gentle gut punch for anyone who’s ever struggled to put their feelings into words. (Looking at you, emotional avoiders.) With every lyric, Mann lays bare the universal fear of leaving love unspoken, and honestly, it’s a lesson we all need.

Musically, “Did I Ever” is a masterclass in subtlety. Mann’s Philly roots shine through with warm vocals that feel like your best friend saying, “Hey, it’s time to tell them how you feel before they start dating someone who knits sweaters for cats.” (Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but you get the point.) The acoustic instrumentation hums along like a quiet heartbeat, letting the lyrics take center stage while tugging on yours.

And let’s not forget the music video, which perfectly complements the song’s vibe. It’s visually captivating, but not in the “let’s throw a bunch of CGI explosions in there” kind of way. It’s tender and poignant, which is probably how most of us wish our love lives looked if we weren’t so busy eating cold pizza and scrolling TikTok.

With over 20 albums under his belt, Mann shows no signs of slowing down, and frankly, the world is better for it. “Did I Ever” isn’t just a Valentine’s Day anthem—it’s a heartfelt reminder to say what’s in your heart before it’s too late. Eddy, you’ve done it again. Pass the tissues.
